Dr. Briana McConnell received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Illinois in 2019. She then completed a rotating internship at Veterinary Specialty Center in Bannockburn, IL (previously in Buffalo Grove, IL) in 2020 before completing a residency in emergency and critical care at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ in 2023.

Her clinical interests are rather diverse, including trauma/wounds, emergency surgery, endocrine (hormonal) disorders, respiratory emergencies, mechanical ventilation, acute liver injury, and acute renal (kidney) diseases, just to name a few. She is particularly interested in hemodialysis and extracorporeal therapies.

Outside of the hospital, she enjoys traveling and spending time outside, specifically on a beach. Before becoming a veterinarian, soccer was her first passion. If she’s not playing, she is watching and supporting her favorite team - come on Chelsea!

Dr. McConnell is excited to join the VSEC team to collaborate with her colleagues and provide gold standard care for the patients within our community!
